Chocolate here, crisps there and soft drinks everywhere! ジャンクフードと肥満の心配

I was surprised at a university cafeteria in the UK to see its shelves full of chocolate bars and vending machines dominated by chocolate bars, muffins and soft drinks. These, sometimes called junk food, have fat and sugar but little nutrition.

On the contrary, in Japan, varieties of sugarfree tea and coffee occupy most space of the vending machines, and food being sugarless is widely accepted. Yes, we indeed have Milky Ways and Snickers but half sizes as compared to the UK.

The UK government is worrying about nationwide obesity. British people seem to be concerned about their health. To me, a solution is apparent: putting away chocolate bars, crisps and soft drinks from school cafeterias.
